Bonsai care watering - Should be kept moist. Best to submerge the container in water then let it soak for 5-10 minutes. Water directly over the base of trunk. Location - Place your plant indoors in a warm well lighted location and remember that indoor bonsai are intolerant of outdoor conditions, unless you live in a tropical area. Fertilizing - You should fertilize once every four months using a 20-20-20 fertilizer at half the label rate. Do NOT fertilize when soil mix is dry you could burn the root system. The easiest type of bonsai are the juniper bonsai's. These care tips are very general be sure to ask you local nursery person for further information. Or type "bonsai care " and yahoo/ google search it.

You have already completed the first step in that you have determined you want an indoor tree. Most people skip that first step and buy an outdoor tree trying to keep it inside. You may want to look at the Bonsai Care page of my site: american-bonsai.com to get an idea of the type and style of tree that appeals to you. You are welcome to email me at: wchoat@american-bonsai.com with more specific questions. All the other advice about care is somewhat useless until you have decide on which species you want.
