Question: I live in the east us. would it be possible to grow a juniper or ponderosa bonsai tree here?

Sure. Juniper easybloom.com/ plantlibrary/ plant/ bonzai-juniper is good for zones 3 to 9, which is most of the East Coast. Just make sure it gets enough light, it needs at least 2 hours of sun a day.
