The leaves are shriveling up and falling off. They are not turning any color (yellow or black) they just get really dry and fall off. It is kept inside at a comfortable temp and I have watered it only once in the 1 1/ 2 weeks that I've had it. I live in Belgium and it is rather cold here right now and I don't want to shock it by placing it outside. What do I do?

Chinese elm bonsai will respond to the changes in the environment even though they are maintained in the same conditions. If u keep your plants in the indoors you might kept the pot in a tray and that brings more humidity. Some bacterial disease may be attacked due to extra humidity that brings critical problems to the tree. Make sure that bottom of the pot is not touching the water in the tray. Once if it is done the Chinese elm bonsai will recover soon.
